Dr. Ankit Patel

General Dentist

Our patients call him Dr. A!

Dr. A was born and raised in Thornhill and attended Vaughan Secondary School. Graduating with honours in 2002, Dr. A went on to achieve his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Ferris State University, Michigan, where he was consistently on the Dean’s list. Awarded early admission to the University of Detroit Mercy School Of Dentistry, Dr. A was among the youngest to graduate at the tender age of 24.

Licensed by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, Dr. A is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He also completed a 1-year residency focusing on dental implants before he became a dentist in Mississauga.

When not at Erinwood Dental (either our Dundas dental practice or our Eglinton dentist practice), Dr. A spends much of his free time with his friends and family or at the gym. Dr. A loves painting and writing poetry while taking long reflective walks on the beaches before preparing his nightly candlelit dinner from scratch. He also volunteers at a puppy shelter.

Dr. Kunal Patel

Yes, you guessed it… We call him Dr. K!

Dr. K’s hometown is the heart of Toronto, but he’s lived in many places since graduating from North Albion Collegiate Institute (NACI) in Rexdale. Like Dr. A, he went to Ferris State University for his undergrad (BS, Summa Cum Laude). Dr. K achieved his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry in 2009. He was presented with the Dr. John M. Spence Award for outstanding achievement in operative dentistry.

Dr. K lives and breathes nothing but dentistry, but even so, his family comes first. So much so that he even loves to brush their teeth and lecture them on proper flossing techniques. They joke that they would rather he be at the practice! Dr. K is fascinated with cars and enjoys travelling and golfing. And if you love to talk, so does he!

We want you to be completely comfortable with your choice of a dental home, so if you’re new to us, Dr. K would love for you to stop by even if you just want to meet him and get familiar with the practice and our team before your first appointment.

Dr. Dan Cohen

General Dentist

You can call him Dr. Dan!

Dr. Dan was born and raised in the GTA before heading west to the University of Guelph, where he completed both a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biological Sciences and a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Bone Physiology.

After a volunteer trip to rural Ghana in 2011, Dr. Dan was inspired by his experiences teaching oral hygiene and safe health practices to those in need. This led him to pursue a dentistry career and complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Detroit Mercy in 2019. There, he continued to work with vulnerable populations. He volunteered in mobile clinics at elementary schools in underserved areas in the city and oral cancer screening events throughout Detroit. In 2018, Dr. Dan embarked on a mission trip to Haiti to provide much-needed treatment to those without access to dental care.

Dr. Dan enjoys getting to know his patients and answering all their questions about dentistry to make everyone comfortable in the chair. He enjoys working with kids and is an Invisalign certified provider. His easy-going nature and sense of humour make visiting the dentist a positive experience for all. When he is not at the office, you can often catch Dr. Dan watching a Raptors game, trying out a new restaurant around Toronto or cooking meals for his friends and family.

Dr. Dale Lai

General Dentist

You can call her Dr. Dale!

Though she grew up a short subway ride from San Francisco, Dr. Dale relocated to the GTA to build a life with her boyfriend Michael, a classmate in dental school – but not before achieving the unexpected. After earning her doctorate, Dr. Dale spent two months on a Naval ship helping to deliver free dental care to the indigenous people of the Polynesian Islands!

At the practice, Dr. Dale loves our positive family environment and being surrounded by a team of like-minded professionals who place their focus on patient-centred care and creating a warm and inviting experience for everyone in your family. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry – especially creating beautiful smiles with cosmetic treatments. It’s important to her to help make you smile – both through her work and by putting you at ease while in her care.

Now making her home in the GTA, Dr. Dale spends her free time volunteering at the local comprehensive free dental clinic and exploring our amazing neighbourhood with Michael and their family dog, Capo, a five-year-old Beagle mix.

Dr. Pallavi Mathur

General Dentist

Having grown up in Mississauga, Dr. Pallavi Mathur is excited to be practicing in the community she has long called home.

Dr. Mathur attended the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine before completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Her training provided extensive experience in comprehensive treatment planning, restorative dentistry, and caring for patients with a wide range of dental needs. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and strives to help patients feel confident, informed, and at ease throughout their experience.

Outside of the office, Dr. Mathur enjoys music, fitness, and spending time with family and friends. She believes that maintaining balance outside of work helps her bring a positive and approachable energy into the office each day.
